Japan - Hamamatsu parish celebrates St. Francis of Assisi
Hamamatsu, Japan - October 2020 - On 4 October, in the Catholic parish of Hamamatsu, directed by Fr Achille Loro Piana, SDB, assisted by Fr Ambrosio Da Silva, SDB, and Fr Joseph Hien, SDB, the feast of the patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi, was celebrated with the traditional blessing of the animals. The Catholic parish of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, diocese of Yokohama, is known for its well-integrated linguistic and cultural communities intertwined around the parish: Japanese, English-speaking and Latin American, with the largest group being Brazilians.
