Spain - 163 young foreigners accompanied by "Fundación Don Bosco"
Spain - October 2020 - Between March and September, the "Fundación Don Bosco", through the project "Educational accompaniment for young people", accompanied 163 young foreigners, between 18 and 21 years old, located in eight locations in Andalusia and the Canary Islands, living in the streets and without economic resources. They are boys and girls who come mainly from the Service for the Protection of Minors, who reside in centers for minors, hostels, or shared apartments. This situation prevents them from generating the necessary conditions for personal development, emancipation and autonomy. The "Fundación Don Bosco", in line with the Rector Major's Strenna 2021 "Moved by hope: 'See, I am making all things new' (Rev 21:5)", reaffirms its commitment to these young people who are, without doubt, one of Don Bosco's chosen. The project is being developed with funds from the “Fundación Don Bosco” in collaboration with the Salesian Family, “Misiones Salesianas”, and the support of the Council of Andalusia, the Municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the “Fundación el Palmar”.
