Vietnam - Admission of new Salesians and perpetual profession
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - August 2020 - August is the month of God's grace for many Provinces of the Congregation around the world, including the Vietnam Province, where ordinations and professions have been held. On August 14, in the novitiate chapel, 17 novices made their first professions in the Society of Saint Francis de Sales. The Superior of the Vietnam Province presided over the Mass and represented the Rector Major to receive the vows and welcome them into the Salesian Congregation. The Perpetual Professions of 8 Salesians were scheduled to be held on August 15, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the three Salesian confreres - who studied theology at the Don Bosco Theological School in Manila - and two other clerics in Ratisbonne, Israel, were unable to return to Vietnam, why they will make their perpetual profession in their present communities at a later date.
