Japan - Solidarity reaches Salesian parish of Hamamatsu
Hamamatsu, Japan - August 2020 - On 7 and 8 August a group of benefactors went to the Catholic church of Hamamatsu, in the prefecture of Shizuoka (diocese of Yokohama). On this occasion, Mr. Patty, who supports migrant children, made a request for home support for the needy, through Fr Achille Loro Piana, pastor of the parish of Hamamatsu, entrusted to the Salesians. Here, language and mathematics learning support is offered for children of foreign nationalities who cannot keep up with school classes due to language problems. The learning support takes place three days a week. Volunteers support learning in the form of individual lessons. There are 18 children, like Peruvians and Brazilians, who come here to study.
