Poland - Initiative in favor of children of South Sudan
Jabłonka, Poland - May 2019 - On May 31, on the initiative of the Salesian Missionary Volunteers “Młodzi Światu” of Krakow, PLS Province, and in collaboration with the municipalities of Jabłonka and Lipnica Wielkathe, the XIX edition of the event "Orawa for the Children of Africa" took place. This year's edition, held in a reduced form due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was organized in favor of 2,000 children, pupils of two primary schools that animate the FMA in the city of Wau, South Sudan. The volunteers and Salesians went to the 12 parishes in the Orawa region and, during the Masses, offered their testimonies to ask for support for the children of Wau; the volunteers also ran small shops with missionary items. More people were able to participate in the celebrations, as pandemic containment measures have been eased since 30 May.
