Hungary - Salesians assist Roma people during Covid-19 pandemic
Kazincbarcika, Hungary - April 2020 - "Don Bosco Barcika Tanoda", the study center for Roma people, located in Kazincbarcika, belonging to the Salesian Province of Hungary (UNG), has changed its goal by going beyond education and taking care of families and children most in need, especially now, during the coronavirus pandemic. Mariann Molnár, Coordinator of the Study Center, noted that in addition to keeping in touch with poor children and their families, enormous efforts have been made to provide them with online education, basic necessities and disinfectants. With the support of the Greek Catholic parish community, the Study Center seeks to help the Roma by offering bread, snacks, vegetables, fruit and eggs once or twice a week.
