India - Packaged meals and shopping bags for needy of Yercaud
Yercaud, India - April 2020 - On April 9, the "COVID-19 Lockdown Relief" of the Salesian "Retreat" work in Yercaud reached 50 families and a small community to provide circa 100 packaged meals. In recent days, about 600 meals and 200 shopping bags were distributed to the most needy. The rescue team is made up of about 20 volunteers who travel between the rescue center and the villages; 25 young Salesians and "Retreat" staff pack and load the goods to be distributed; 30 volunteers help identify the people to help and contribute to the expedition.
