Slovenia - Laptops for needy families
Ljubljana, Slovenia - April 2020 - The emergency due to coronavirus has also changed the way we study in Slovenia. For three weeks, approximately 122,500 students and 40,000 students have had to study online every day, and there was not even time to check whether everyone at home had the appropriate technical means. The most troubled are families with multiple children, where some even use their parents' cell phones to follow their teaching. The "Don Bosco Foundation" of the Salesian Province of Ljubljana (SLO) reacted immediately by donating laptops to the most needy families. The Provincial Economer, Bro. Janez Krnc, SDB, with Ms. Maja Žibert, an employee of the Foundation, asked the Salesian communities to report the most needy families and immediately distributed a first dozen laptops.
