The Bell of the Oratory

In November 1846, Don Bosco had the first bell placed on the Pinardi roof.
The bell was created in the “Mazzola” foundry in Valduggia, in the province of Vercelli. It weighed 22 kg and cost Fr Giovanni Vola a little over 88 lire; he had ordered and blessed it.

Ecological footprint in the world

In the Message addressed to the participants of the high-level event of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Pope Francis emphasized that care for the environment cannot be detached from the respect for human rights. "This beloved land of ours is the great resource that God has given, which is at our disposal and it is not to be defaced, exploited or degraded. On the contrary, enjoying its immense beauty, we can live with dignity," the Holy Father said.
