In September 1815, Pope Pius VII established the feast of Mary Help of Christians as a sign of gratitude to Mary for his liberation from imprisonment by Napoleon.  A month before, in a small hamlet of Asti, a man was born who would become the great apostle of the Help of Christians. The book "From the house of Mary to our homes. The Gospel of the Family at the school of Don Bosco," is the sixth in the series "Notebooks of Mary Help of Christians" published by ELLEDICI. It is intended to show the relevance today of the bicentenary of the birth of Don Bosco and of the institution of the feast of Mary Help of Christians.

In the first part, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family and Spiritual Animator of ADMA (Association of Mary Help of Christians), documents how Mary Help of Christians was present in the life and mission of Don Bosco and how the Father and Teacher of Youth saw in Mary Help of Christians the guide and supporter of his educational and pastoral work.

The second part, edited by Fr Roberto Carelli, professor of theology at the Salesian Pontifical University of Turin-Crocetta, includes the catechesis that accompanied the path of ADMA in preparation for the Seventh International Congress of Mary Help of Christians. The Congress was a Salesian Family event, held in Turin and Colle Don Bosco from 6 to 9 August 2015. Its motto was "Hic domus mea, mea inde glory - from the house of Mary to our homes." This second part shows the maternal presence of Mary, Mother of the Church and Help of Christians with those who live the beauty of family life and seek to respond, with the apostolic heart of Don Bosco, to the challenges that the family is facing today.
