Slovenia - Opening of new provincial archive
Ljubljana, Slovenia - January 2020 - On January 31, the feast day of Saint John Bosco, the Salesians gathered for their spiritual retreat in Ljubljana Rakovnik, Mother House of the Salesian Province of Slovenia (SLO). On this occasion, the new spaces of the Provincial Archives were opened. Before the blessing, Fr Marko Košnik, Provincial SLO, said: “After years of efforts, we open new, enlarged and modern spaces for the archive and thus want to honor the Salesian heritage and the Salesians who have laid the foundations of our current Province. We are proud of the conscientiousness, perseverance and knowledge of dr. Bogdan Kolar, SDB, who has been watching over the archives for years, taking care of it in such a way as to have become an exemplary model for the other religious orders and ecclesial institutes in Slovenia." Fr Kolar then presented the needs and organization of the Provincial Archive, with historical passages hidden in the documents and interesting materials in the archival boxes.
