Brazil - Students of Salesian University in São Paulo set up weather station for Madagascar
São Paulo, Brazil - November 2019 - Five students from the Salesian University Center of São Paulo (UNISAL), American unit, Campus Dom Bosco, have developed a project for the construction of an Automatic Weather Station (EMA in Portuguese) destined for a town from the province of Toliara, in the southern part of Madagascar. The station, which will be installed on 15 February 2020, will be able to monitor the following meteorological parameters: air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, precipitation, thermal sensation, heat index and dew point temperature. The meteorological data will be used to revitalize the arid soil of that area of Madagascar, a measure towards making it fertile for the community to produce food.
