Bogotà, Colombia - July 2019 - The inauguration ceremony of the new Superior of the Salesian Provincial of Colombia-Bogotà (COB), Fr John Jairo Gómez, was celebrated on 28 July. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr Timothy Ploch, Councilor for the Interamerica Region, and concelebrated by Fr Jaime Morales, outgoing Provincial, Msgr. Alfredo Espinoza, SDB, archbishop of Quito; Msgr. Camilo Castrellón, SDB, bishop of Barrancabermeja; Msgr. Héctor Julio López SDB, bishop emeritus of Girardot; and by the Salesian Provincials of Colombia-Medellín, Bolivia and Ecuador. Also present at the ceremony were Salesians from the two Colombian provinces, members of various groups of the Salesian Family and of the Salesian Youth Movement.
