In this sense, the education that young people receive in general is not adequate to their real needs and is lacking in the tools necessary to motivate them and give them an entrepreneurial spirit, an appreciation for work.
It is here that one remembers the life and work of Don Bosco, a life that inspires us to think of quality professional training that can offer children the tools and knowledge they need today. Thus, the house and work of Rodeo del Medio has expanded over the years through its educational offerings at various levels (initial, primary, secondary, tertiary, higher education and job training), all to promoting the development of skills, technical and human abilities.
This is the idea behind the "Germinating Young Entrepreneurs" project. It aims to expand the current educational offer offered by the Don Bosco Institute and the Vocational Training Institute, providing professional training in the area of beekeeping, gardens and aromatic plants.
In 2018, the idea of restructuring and preparing the place where these working activities could be perfected began to materialize, and courses began.
In this way they have tried to broaden and qualify the Institute's educational offer, equating the possibilities for progress for the area's young people and providing them with the necessary tools so that they can access the world of work. The center also tries to foster values that contribute to a better society.
The steps taken include the construction of a new greenhouse, the production of aromatic plants, modernizing the apiary and the infrastructure for an educational laboratory and a tool room.
The Salesian House of Rodeo del Medio, without a doubt, is a space of containment that knows how to give support and offer different opportunities to young people who want to pursue their dreams, even in the face of an un-encouraging panorama.
