The various social, cultural, political and economic realities of and across the globe will be examined by the participants via a number of presentations and reports and a specific methodology in their group work. In this way, the attempt to identify the fundamental challenges of today's globalized society and to indicate lines of action guiding the commitment of its members for the forthcoming years will be made to the whole Association.
The Salesian Cooperators are lay persons who share the vocation of St. John Bosco to work in the Church and in society for the human and Christian promotion of the young, especially the poorest. Their mission and their role in the Church express all their current relevance the very days in which the Synod of Bishops on young people is being celebrated, with the participation of a number of young people.
At the Synod, the Rector Major of the Salesians, point of reference for the whole Salesian Family, becomes the spokesman of all those consecrated and lay people who are at the service of young people with multiple activities: commitment in schools, oratories, parishes, in various social institutions, in shelters for minors in difficulty, shelters for abandoned mothers or victims of violence with their children .
A service involving around 30,000 Salesian Cooperators all over the world, who bear witness to the Gospel of joy with their daily lives. And they do so through educational attention that is lived and experienced towards the new generations according to the Don Bosco Preventive System.
