by Sr. Gabriela Murguía, FMA
The purpose of these meetings is to deepen and unify the educational-pastoral criteria and evangelizers of the educational educational communities that make up the Salesian Schools Network of Mexico, included in the continental process of the Salesian School in America.
The directors of the Salesian centers were accompanied by: Sr. Guadalupe Torres Montiel, and Fr Gabino Hernández Paleta, respectively Superiors for the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) and the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) of the Provinces of Mexico-Mexico (MME and MEM); Sr. Leonor Salazar (FMA) and Fr Hugo Orozco (SDB), Superiors of the Provinces of Mexico-Monterrey (MMO) and Mexico-Guadalajara (MEG); and also by the National Team of the Salesian Schools of Mexico.
The first report was offered by Fr Francisco de Asis de la Rosa Patron, National Coordinator of "Caritas Mexico", who presented the theme: "Accompanying in Salesian style". The presbyter discussed the theme of the educational emergency, highlighted the difficulty expressed by the new generations to understand the Christian life and the theological language that sustains the life of faith, and also traced a profile of the so-called digital natives.
In the evening, Fr Orozco, during the traditional thought of the "Good Salesian Night", with great surprise and joy narrated an experience in an educational community: the young graduates of that center had indicated as their "godfather" the concierge of the institute. For this reason, Fr Orozco emphasized that it was not the position or the titles that were significant for children, but rather the simple people, those who accompany them day by day and in this way educate them and take care of them.
Subsequently, Mr. Fernando Hernández Avilés, President of the Mexican Association of Resilience, presented the theme "Management and leadership - space of protagonism". He first illustrated the situation of Mexico's youth, with statistical data, causes and reasons for the current situation in which children and young people grow up. Then, he addressed the question of leadership and innovation, deepening the experiences of accompaniment and growth and indicating the need to generate transforming leaders.
Joy, positivity and creativity were constant attitudes manifested by the participants, aware of being heirs of the mission of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
