India - New Biogas units for poor farmers
Ahmednagar, India - June 2018 - As part of its activities to achieve a sustainable economy, the "Don Bosco Development Society" (DBDS) has inaugurated the "Rural Biogas Project", assisted by the "Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra" (BGVK) and funded by the "Van Amerigen Foundation". The project will benefit 30 poor farmers from five villages in the district of Ahmednagar, State of Maharashtra, who will be able to start organic farming in their fields. Biogas is a mixture of various types of gas produced by anaerobic bacterial fermentation from vegetable and animal waste.
