Sumba Island, Indonesia - February 2016 - The Salesian presence in Sumba Island, Indonesia, began in 2001, with the novitiate and a small vocational training centre. During these 15 years the Salesian community has grown and now has two levels of initial formation, pre-novitiate and novitiate, and has recently obtained official government recognition as a High School. "SMK Don Bosco" has also opened a new chemistry laboratory. The work also has an oratory, a boarding school and a parish.
