Before the meeting, the Rector Major attended a ceremony at the "Dom Bosco" Institute (ISDB), where there a statue of Don Bosco donated by the Economer General, Jean Paul Müller, was blessed at the ISDB; also, a symbolic tree was planted. "A simple gesture, but a tribute to all those who commit to forming the educators of young people," said Fr Á.F. Artime.
At the headquarters of the Vice Province, he participated in the work session of the Provincial Council and, subsequently, held talks with Archbishop of Maputo, Mgr. Francisco Chimoio, and Msgr. Edgar Peña Parra, Apostolic Nuncio in Mozambique.
On Friday, the Rector Major recited prayer with the 16 trainees present in the Salesian Novitiate; he then met with the Sons of Don Bosco active in the country and reminded them of the importance of missionary commitment and religious formation; finally, after Mass, he concluded the day at the headquarters of the FMA Province and offered his thoughts for the "good night."
Saturday was dedicated to the Salesian Family and to the young. The day opened with the Eucharist presided over by some 1,500 faithful in the "Saint Joseph" parish of the Lhanguene district. After the Mass, there was the meeting with SF groups to whom Fr Á.F. Artime expressed words of encouragement in growing in the values of the Gospel and charismatic identity; in the afternoon, the Rector Major met with young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) to whom he pointed out the importance of practicing discernment in discovering their vocations.
Finally, on Sunday, 26 November, before departing for the airport, the Rector Major had the opportunity to celebrate the Eucharist in the Provincial House. He greeted his confreres by saying, "I want to thank God for the many beautiful lives I have encountered and the intense moments that I have lived here these days. I would say that yesterday was the day of the smile."
