The match will be played on 11 June at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium of Madrid, between the Real squad and that of Rome.
"Misiones Salesianas" – the Salesian Mission Office in Madrid - and the Real Madrid Foundation have joined forces in projects for disadvantaged children and youth, because sport is a factor in social integration and the promotion of values such as solidarity, participation, team spirit, respect and inclusion.
Currently there are 17 socio-sports schools and a draft humanitarian aid project as a result of this collaboration. These provide a safe place for leisure, education, medical checks and food, and, above all, the formation of values through sport. They are distributed in 12 countries on 3 continents, benefiting over 2,000 children and young people. Ten of these schools and the project of humanitarian aid take place in African countries.
"Football should be a great generator of solidarity,” said the president of Real Madrid, “and its strength should be conveyed in a commitment to the aid of the most vulnerable, because in Africa 350 million people live in extreme poverty, according to data of the World Bank".
Then, he added: "the victory in this match is called solidarity", and it concerns all those children and young people who have no resources.
