14 March 2025

Zapote, Costa Rica – March 2025 – On Friday, March 7, the House of Salesians of Don Bosco at Zapote launched the celebrations for its 60th anniversary with a Eucharistic celebration, a brunch, and a festive gathering. The theme of the Jubilee year is “From Valdocco to Zapote: 60 Years of Pilgrimage in Joy, Hope, and Education with Love,” symbolized by an anchor and a ship on the sea.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. René Santos, Vice Provincial of the Central American Salesian Province (CAM), alongside Salesians, former student priests, and clergy members. Attendees included primary and secondary school students, officials from the Ministry of Education, representatives of national Salesian offices, chaplains, and members of Salesian houses throughout Costa Rica.

After the Mass, guests attended a brunch and received a commemorative gift—a mug printed with the official 60th-anniversary logo, representing the school’s history and its evolving institutional emblem, which features a house and the slogan “The Home to Be Happy.”

The festivities continued with performances by saxophonist Andrés Camacho, the school’s children’s choir, and party games in the courtyard. Celebrations will continue throughout the year with historical events, environmental initiatives, alumni reunions, and special activities integrated into the school calendar.
