During the seminar, participants learned how to use salesian.online, a platform that collects a wide range of documents and materials dedicated to Salesian spirituality, history, and education. Each document on the site includes an abstract and the original text in PDF format, making it easier for AI algorithms to access and process texts. The workshop demonstrated how the AI assistant “Salesian & Don Bosco Research” can be optimally used to answer specific questions on educational, historical, and spiritual Salesian themes, providing quick and accurate responses based on original documents. Another interesting feature explored was the ability to upload personal texts into the conversation and critically engage with them using Salesian criteria through the AI assistant.
The seminar also showcased how to utilize the AI search function to deeply explore specific Salesian themes among the 5,000 texts available on salesian.online. Another key topic covered was the Salesian approach to AI, following the recent document from the Social Communication Sector, "A Salesian Perspective on Artificial Intelligence." AI should be used to promote human dignity, strengthen the common good, and foster a culture of solidarity.
