Venezuela – Salesian Students from the Andean Region Gather in Valera to Strengthen Leadership and Social Commitment
Valera, Venezuela – March 2025 – The María Auxiliadora Retreat House in Valera hosted the meeting of Salesian student organizations from the Andean region, bringing together young leaders from various Salesian educational institutions. Representatives from Colegio San Luis in Mérida, the Salesian Technical School in Barinas, Colegio Pío XII in Puerto La Cruz, and Salesian Technical School Santo Tomás in Valera gathered for this event, organized by the School Works Commission with support from the Planning and Development Office of the Salesian Inspectorate San Lucas in Venezuela (VEN).
In an atmosphere of fraternity and enthusiasm, the young leaders shared reports on their organizations’ activities from the previous year and participated in a socio-political training day focused on leadership, service, and Catholic Social Teaching. The main objective was to strengthen their commitment as "good Christians and honest citizens," capable of contributing to the construction of a better Venezuela. "Young people are the future and hope of the Church," emphasized one of the organizers, highlighting the crucial role of youth in the country’s social transformation.
