Convened by Valerio Martorana, a member of the Presidency of the World Confederation of Don Bosco Past Pupils and Regional Coordinator for Europe and the Middle East, the online meeting began with a prayer.
Following this, the Presidents and representatives of the participating Federations spoke: Diego Aragon, President of the Spanish Federation, along with Clara Contreras; Andre Camilleri, Amanda Cachia, and Valerie Vella for the Maltese Federation; Robert Mruk, President of the Slovak Federation; Inacio Rodrigues for the United Arab Emirates; and Nawand Ferchichi Zouaoui and Assyl Ben Hammed for Tunisia.
"We must be able to respond to the educational challenges of our time," stated Valerio Martorana, Regional Coordinator for Europe and the Middle East. "With our limitations and difficulties, but always grateful for the school of Don Bosco. We must remain united, remembering that each of us is essential to carry forward Don Bosco's mission; united in diversity, as only then can we progress, with the ability to respond to reality."
Regarding the resolutions from the recent Extraordinary World Assembly, the leaders decided to continue discussing them at closer intervals, allowing for the exchange of best practices and addressing the needs of the association.
With satisfaction, Diego Aragon emphasized that "The Spanish Confederation continues to grow, both in the number of associations and members." He also announced that "next week, a youth meeting will take place in Spain, bringing together over 31 participants." Additionally, he highlighted the success of the aid campaign for those affected in Valencia, which concluded with a record-breaking collection of 25,000 euros.
The meeting concluded with the decision that the next in-person gathering of Presidents and Delegates from Europe and the Middle East will be held in Rome from October 20 to 22, while Eurobosco 2026 is set to take place in Malta.
