The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr Enrico Lupano. Salesians from the Colle Don Bosco community concelebrated wth him: the promoter of the Cause for Beatification and Canonisation of Mamma Margaret for the Piedmontese territory, Fr Michele Molinar, the Diocesan Vicar of the Mamma Margherita Pastoral Unit (made up of the communities in Capriglio, Montafia, Viale and Cortazzone) Fr Domenico Valsania, and the assistant parish priest, Fr Francis Thomas Kunnathoor. Capriglio's Mamma Margaret Choir animated the liturgy.
In the homily Fr Lupano sought to underline who Mamma Margaret was, comparing her to the widow described in the Gospel of Luke of the same day – the woman who puts all her coins into the treasury at the temple. Like that widow, Mamma Margaret, also a widow, did not hesitate to sacrifice the few material goods she possessed for works of charity.
Recalling the words of her husband on her deathbed, which urged her to always trust in God, she gave her belongings and all of herself: to help the family, especially encouraging young John's studies and vocation; and then help the poor at the Becchi and later help the abandoned boys that Don Bosco gathered at the oratory in Valdocco.
On the occasion of the commemoration, the President of the "Friends of the Mamma Margherita Museum" Association, Diego Occhiena, highlighted the happy evening anniversary with the simultaneous beginning of the online refresher course for vice-postulators, animators and promoters for the Causes of Beatification and Canonisation in the Salesian Family: a meeting which continues the experience of the Seminar on holiness shared in September 2023 in Valdocco, Turin, and an intermediate stage before the next face-to-face meeting in 2026.
