The Gospel icon is the passage from the Wedding Feast at Cana "which will allow us to rekindle the joy of the call to the radical following of Jesus Christ and the passion of witness," explained Conchita, Regional Manager of the VDB.
The meeting was attended by a large group of VDB from the Iberian Region, in addition to the Salesian accompaniers of each of the six groups that make up the Region.
The assembly served to approve the summary document of the Region and to deal with three important issues: formation, spiritual life and the sense of belonging. In addition, it also allowed the election of the two representatives who will participate in the General Assembly in Rome.
"Everything went well and there was a good fraternal atmosphere, prayer and work", said the Regional Leader.
The final Eucharist of the event was presided over by Fr Fernando García Sánchez, Superior of the Salesians of the Saint James the Greater Province, Spain (SSM), in which the Vicar of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Spain, Sister Mercedes Rodríguez, as well as the Delegate for the Salesian Family in SSM, Fr José Antonio Hernández, other Salesians and a Volunteer with Don Bosco (CDB) also participated.
The Volunteers of Don Bosco (VDB) are a secular Institute of Pontifical Right, made up of consecrated lay people who live Salesian spirituality by immersing themselves totally among the people, engaged in daily work, in various professional activities, to make the love of God present in all secular environments. In this world they discover and make visible the values that have existed since creation. The Institute, based in Rome, is structured in 23 Regions, 173 groups and has 1,308 members.
