As part of this 3rd Meeting, the 6th Regional Elective Congress will also be held, in which some new members of the Regional Secretariat (SER) will be chosen and some important documents concerning the animation of the Region will be reviewed.
In relation to the theme of the Assembly, it was decided to follow the sequence already established in the two previous regional meetings, giving them continuity: in 2011 the motto was adopted in "One heart, one mission", which dealt with the mission of the Salesian Cooperators; in 2017, with "A shared mission: the Salesian Family", the path of the common mission between Salesian Cooperators and consecrated in the works was further developed; therefore, the proposal for the Third Meeting is to go one step further and explore the mission of the Association of Salesian Cooperators in the Church, also responding to the challenge that the association itself has posed: that of opening up to the local Church, making it a participant in the universality of the Salesian charism.
The motto of the meeting will be: "Vine shoots 24: Family of God in Salesian style", and aims to be an invitation to build the Church starting from the encounter with the Lord, who is the vine, then grafting on as its branches, to bear fruit in abundance, within a universal, synodal and missionary Church.
The meeting is expected to be attended by about 300 Salesian Cooperators from the seven Provinces of the Region, including Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator of the ASC, Sister Lucrecia Uribe, World Delegate of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and Br. Dominic Nguyen, World Delegate for the Salesians of Don Bosco. Fr Pascual Chávez, Rector Major Emeritus, and the Bishop of Malaga, Bishop Jesús Catalá; and other illustrious figures of the local Church, such as priest and singer Fermín Negre, and laymen Unai Quirós, also a singer, and Patxi Velasco, aka "Fano", an illustrator.
