Chile – After the Salesian Olympics: a sign of unity, love and service
Santiago, Chile – October 2024 - On 4 October, after five days of competition, dedication and lots of fun, the Salesian Olympics culminated with the closing ceremony at the Salesianos Alameda Educational Centre. Fr David Rivera, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, stressed the importance of desires, recalling the teachings of Don Bosco: "His dreams of a large number of young people who contribute to society as good Christians and upright citizens allow us to celebrate this moment today." In his speech he thanked all those who made possible the holding and success of the Olympics. After the award ceremony, Fr Nelson Moreno, Provincial of the Salesians in Chile, also highlighted the importance and teachings of Don Bosco's Dream at Nine Years of age: "Everything that has been experienced over these days, games, competitions, meetings, smiles and effort, is to the greater glory of God and a sign of our unity in love and service."
