As part of this project, which has already seen three previous appointments, the fourth chapter has now been released, shot in Barranquilla, and entitled "Reboleando" (Re-launch), in reference to the name of the neighbourhood in which their presence is located, in Rebolo.
The first Salesian missionaries arrived in Barranquilla 121 years ago. Since then, the Salesians have never stopped accompanying the local population, who suffer from the consequences of poverty and violence. The Rebolo district is the largest in the city and the Salesians there have opened their Don Bosco Social Centre in the Rebolo district, known as "a white point in the middle of the red zone".
Through education, sport and culture, promoted thanks to the works of the Don Bosco Social Centre, the parish and the San Roque school, the Salesians are helping to transform an area of the city marked by invisible borders imposed by gangs and drug trafficking.
In this way joy, love, hope and tolerance become the obligatory subjects of Salesian works, which turn threats into opportunities thanks to the Don Bosco Preventive System.
The "Reboleando" episode is available online.
