Bolivia - 3rd Valdocco Meeting: a space for personal growth and social commitment
La Paz, Bolivia – July 2024 – The 3rd Valdocco Meeting was held with the main objective of strengthening the participation of Vocational Training Centres (Student Representatives) and the Salesian Youth Movement (National and Regional Council) in social actions within their centres, parishes and Salesian communities. About 89 young people were involved at the Don Bosco Retreat House from 11 to 13 July. During these three days, the young people were involved in various formation activities, including workshops on prevention, safeguarding, personal development, volunteering and construction systems through "Sensemaker" as a research methodology on youth participation; Listening Groups on the accompaniment of educators to help guide the formation processes for Teachers and Young People, directed by the Office of Planning and Provincial Development (OPDI), through the Employment Orientation Information Office. The young people had the opportunity to share their experiences and testimonies, and in addition, they carried out social activities in various institutions with children and young people with different abilities and the elderly. The activity ended with the sending Mass presided over by Fr Henry Córdova, Delegate for Youth Ministry in the Salesian Province of Bolivia, who was present and participated in the various activities. Fr Córdova encouraged young people to continue these processes in their centres and to follow the path marked by Don Bosco.
