Spain - "A youth ministry for our time"
Sanlúcar la Mayor, Spain – June 2024 - The Youth Ministry team of the Salesian Province of Spain - Mary Help of Christians (SMX) celebrated the last session of the 2023/24 academic year on 26 and 27 June with an expanded meeting that brought together representatives of the teams from Schools, Oratories and Youth Centres, Parishes, Social Education Platforms, together with the sectors of Vocational Animation, Missionary Animation, Faith Education, the Bosco Global NGO and the Communication Delegation. The first working session was focused on the review of catechetical processes, as part of the actions envisaged in the Province's Salesian Educative and Pastoral Plant (SEPP), focused above all on the changes of stage and on the reflection initiated by the Process of Education for the Faith. The second block of work, after the team meeting and the meeting of the working group for socio-occupational inclusion, was dedicated to the proposal of digital evangelisation. “For the next academic year, in line with the SEPP we want to carry out a digital evangelisation initiative. For this reason, we consider it important to make a preliminary reflection that leads us to say what we mean by digital evangelisation and what initiatives to promote, "explained Fr Jordi Lleixà, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry. Youth protagonism was reflected on in the second day, as part of the options provided for by the Overall Province Plan and after the recent Provincial Chapter, where the methods to implement it were explored, together with the reflection on the book "A youth ministry for our time". The meeting ended with the review of SEPP objectives, information and a review of the objectives and the schedule to be taken into account.
