South Africa – Our Lady of the Rosary Parish Children's Workshop in Hanover Park
Cape Town, South Africa – June 2024 – The evangelisation team of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Hanover Park organised a children's workshop on the Laudato Si' Movement on 9 June. Prepared and animated by all the parish catechists, led by Mrs. Jane (MARFAM), all the children of the parish involved in catechesis participated in the workshop. Ms Lucinda, from the Salesian parish evangelisation team, led by parish priest Fr John Thompson, SDB, shared the deep motivations for this action of the Laudato Si' Movement: “Our children are the future and we need to make sure they know how to take care of our world and God's Creation and how they can contribute positively to the care of our common home.” Since last January 2024, the 'Eco Ubuntu' project has been undertaken in all the communities of the Salesian Vice-Province of Southern Africa (AFM), located in eSwatini, Lesotho, South Africa, involving most of the 6 parishes and 18 schools of the Salesian network. Some Salesian institutions also join the Don Bosco Green Alliance global network which is an integral member of the Laudato Si 'Movement, connecting and inspiring 630 Don Bosco institutions in 88 countries around the world.
