"BibleOn" offers a hybrid platform, available for free both on the Google Play Store and on the Apple App Store, where the texts and audio of the Bible are already available in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Assamese, Malagasy... "But we have developed it with the possibility of accommodating up to over 2,000 languages," Fr Madathiparambil shared with ANS. He also received an award for Creative Pastoral Care from the Biblical Commission of the Indian Bishops' Conference for this valuable resource.
Released in Shillong in October 2022, during the celebrations in memory of the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the Salesians in Northeast India, the application is now waiting for new languages to be offered to the faithful around the world: “"Through this application, we want to make the Word of God accessible to as many people as possible. The application works without advertising to maintain the sacredness of the content; and we can add any number of languages in the world, provided we obtain the text and audio of the languages concerned" added Fr Madathiparambil.
"I am convinced that it is possible to extend this application to include other languages from other parts of the world with the help of our Salesian Family; and for our part we are ready to collaborate with all the publishers and the media or communication departments of the Congregation to improve the services of the app. We will be very pleased to be able to play a supporting role in this regard" concluded the Salesian.
