Brussels, Belgium – May 2024 - "The eVEnT: The European Agenda for the Future of VET", the European event dedicated to the future of vocational education and training, took place from 22 to 24 May. The term Vocational Education and Training (VET) represents a set of fundamental paths that every government, institution and individual must follow to improve the quality of vocational education and training. A key element for the future development of the European Union and a central pillar for a successful social and employment policy. Prepared by three prestigious international organisations - EfVET, EVBB and European Vocational Training Association - EVTA - and held at the Autoworld Museum in Brussels, the meeting involved over 250 participants including representatives of the European institutions and various national governments, managers of the vocational training sector from all over the world, private companies specialising in technology for vocational training centres. For Salesian vocational training, Maximus Okoro, DB Tech Africa from Nairobi and Piero Fabris, DB Tech Europe from Rome participated in the meeting and workshops. Many topics were covered, from the need for common and shared standards for the certification of skills, to the management of training for the most vulnerable people, to AI tools for students and trainers. A great moment of networking and learning for IFP networks as well as to make known the centuries-old experience of Salesian formation.
