Manaus, Brazil – April 2024 – The Salesians in the Province of Manaus, Brazil (BMA) concluded their 21st Provincial Chapter with a Eucharistic celebration on the evening of 11April. Inspired by the theme of GC29 "PASSIONATE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST, DEDICATED TO YOUNG PEOPLE. For a faithful and prophetic experience of our Salesian vocation", the Provincial Chapter experienced three days filled with sharing, reflection, insights and proposals on the topics covered. During the three days, Chapter members reflected on the report of the BMA Provincial, Fr Felipe Bauzière, who presented the report on the Province, as well as on the report of the Provincial Economer Fr Franciclei Borges. Proposals for amending the articles of the Provincial Directory (economy) and proposals of the Province in view of GC29, presented by Fathers João Benedito, Josué Nascimento and João Mendonça who helped Chapter members to reflect on the three GC29 core areas. On the last day of the Chapter, Fr João Mendonça was elected Delegate of the BMA Province to the GC29 and Fr Franciclei Borges as substitute. At the end of the Chapter, Fr Bauzière thanked Chapter members for their commitment to a fraternal and productive Chapter, and the Moderator, Fr Franciclei Borges for the organisation of the entire Chapter process, in addition to the 21 Chapter members and guests.
