Brazil – Pastoral and social activity by Salesian youth at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Porto Velho for cancer patients
Porto Velho, Brazil – March 2024 - The young people from the Salesian Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Porto Velho, Rondônia (BMA), began pastoral and social work with cancer patients in care at the Sister Rosa Gambelli Care House in the parish. Every Saturday morning, the team meets with patients and their caregivers for a moment of faith celebration and socialising. Young people talk and interact with everyone, offering support and friendship. The team also identifies some special needs of the patients, such as medicines, food and clothes, which, as far as possible, are taken care of by the parish. In addition to local patients, there is a large number of people arriving from other states and even neighbouring countries. This is the Salesian youth who act with the heart of Don Bosco.
