India – A night vigil involves more than 300 young people
Matunga, India – March 2024 – The Don Bosco Youth Services (DBYS) Matunga, in collaboration with various ecclesial youth movements in Mumbai, has organised a night vigil entitled A New Dawn, which took place on 9 March. The event brought together more than 300 young people who met in the evening, immediately breaking the ice with music and songs. The "YU4C" (Young People United for Christ) Band set the tone for the vigil, singing lively gospel songs. Fr Leon Cruz Ratinam, together with the young people from DBYS, conducted an Adoration service during which the priests made themselves available for Confessions. During the vigil, different activities and moments of dialogue were organised, which allowed young people to immerse themselves in the faith and share their intuitions and experiences. A Way of the Cross was also held, led by the young people of the Missionary Families of Christ. Fr Kelvin Sanctis then celebrated the Eucharist, speaking of how Jesus is "the new sign for the redemption of humanity, which uproots us from darkness and evil" and adding that "each of us is called to be one of the rays of Jesus which give happiness and joy".
