Nairobi, Kenya – February 2024 - On 6 February, the wife of the President of Poland, Mrs Agatha Duda, visited Don Bosco Boys Town and was able to see for herself how the projects sponsored by Polish Aid – the Polish agency for international cooperation and development – are being carried out through the Don Bosco Volunteer Organisation in Krakow. During this visit, she opened the new motor vehicle mechanics (MVM) and electric motor vehicle mechanics (MVE) workshop, completed with the help of Poland. In the past, Polish Aid has supported Don Bosco Boys Town in strengthening welding, tailoring, secretarial and mechanical workshops for motor vehicles and in setting up cosmetology. The First Lady of Poland was very impressed by the way in which the projects sponsored by Polish Aid were implemented by the Salesian work, and by how the work is helping needy young people in Kenya. With a past as a high school teacher, Mrs Agatha Duda said that any educational institution is close to her heart, and commented positively on the reception she received at the Salesian work, the cultural dance and the entire program carried out in her honour, all prepared with great care.
