Portugal – January 2024 – As is the case in Salesian communities around the world, on 31 January the Salesians of the Province of Portugal also celebrated Don Bosco. In Estoril, under the motto "Let's dream with Don Bosco", they lived a day full of activities, with the Eucharist presided over by Fr Luís Almeida, SDB, Salesian Rector at Manique, several football tournaments, games, music and dances in the courtyard. The educational community of the Salesians at Évora, on the other hand, celebrated the feast with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Jesuit Father Miguel Gonçalves Ferreira, head of University Ministry in Évora, and with a show of talents by the students. In Funchal the Eucharist was celebrated by the bishop of the Diocese, Bishop Nuno Brás and then exhibitions, games and other entertainment took place in the school and in the courtyards. In Lisbon, the celebration was presided over by Fr Tarcizio Morais, Superior of the Province of Portugal, who celebrated some of the Masses scheduled together with the Rector, Fr David Teixeira. Then various entertainment activities took place in the courtyards, with the typical spirit of the Salesian Family. Finally, the Salesians in Mirandela celebrated the feast with the Eucharist and with theatrical and recreational activities at the youth centre.
