Chile – Meeting of Rectors, Principals and Legal Representatives of the Salesian Educational Network, Chile

Santiago, Chile – January 2024 - Rectors, Principals and Legal Representatives of the 22 schools in the Salesian Educational Network, Chile gathered at the Salesian Educational Centre in Alameda to participate in the days of strengthening the members of the leadership groups. The objective was to offer a synodal space for formation and joint programming between religious and lay people, to promote the continuous improvement of the Schools Network in view of the integral formation of the more than 30,000 young people who are educated in Salesian settings. Fr Carlo Lira, Provincial of the Salesians in Chile, opened the meeting with the Eucharistic celebration, and then delivered four programmatic lines that define the work of the Salesian Congregation for 2024: 1. Strengthen the charismatic identity whose centre is Christ; 2. Strengthen the management of the educative and pastoral community; 3. Strengthen the pastoral proposal with young people and their families; 4. Achieve transparent and orderly administrative management. Fr Nelson Moreno, appointed Provincial, who will take over the animation and governance of the Province on 27 January, delved into the Strenna of the Rector Major 2024. The work was animated and guided by the Provincial Youth Ministry team, led by the delegate, Fr Juan Miguel Cárcamo, and by Fr David Rivera, who will take up the post this year, together with the director of the Salesian Schools Network, Manuele Catalano.
