Darjeeling, India – December 2023 – Salesian Radio 90.8 FM celebrated the milestone of its first eight years of existence on 8 December. The commemorative event took place at the Salesian Institute in Sonada, in the presence of Fr Raymond Tudu, treasurer of the Radio, and Fr CM Paul, Director of Salesian Radio 90.8 FM. Fr CM Paul himself, in his speech, presented all the founding radio journalists of Radio: the director of the program, Samir Chhetri, Bryan Kerr, Moses Tamang, Bandana Lohagun, Alisha Gurung and Pratap Rai. On the same occasion, Fr James Chacko, Principal of the Institute, presented the national award of the "Green Maple" Foundation for entertainment, awarded to Salesian Radio 90.8 FM during a national event held in Darjeeling last July. The award was then collected by journalist Samir Chhetri.
