Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic - October 2023 - For 3 days, from 20 to 23 October, the 3rd Salesian Congress of Educommunication was the epicentre of educational innovation and the promotion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and communication in the Salesian Province of the Antilles (ANT). The event, held at the 'Pinar Quemado' centre in Jarabacoa, brought together hundreds of educators, communicators and technology experts to discuss and explore the impact of AI in the lives of professionals. Prestigious speakers shared their knowledge and perspectives on the relationship between AI, education and communication, providing participants with an in-depth and valuable insight into this evolving topic. Hugo Parada, a technology expert, spoke on "The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms"; Yamell Montero, teacher and researcher, presented "Artificial Intelligence and Teachers"; Wilson Mateo, a visionary in the field, explored "The Opportunities, Challenges and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence for Dominican Education"; Lisy Cruz, a content creator, shared her experience in "Creating Content with Artificial Intelligence"; Jesús Peña, an expert in technology and education, spoke on "The use and educational benefits of Chat GPT"; Edwin Santana, an expert in technological ethics, discussed 'Ethics and Artificial Intelligence'. The event was attended online by Fr José Pastor Ramírez (Provincial of ANT), Fr Hugo Orozco (Councillor for the Inter-American Region), and Fr Gildasio Mendes (General Councillor for Social Communication).
