Mexico - Online meeting of Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-America Region

León, Mexico - October 2023 - On 16 October, the online meeting of Salesian Cooperators (SSCC) of the Inter-America Region was held. It brought together the local, national and provincial formators, Delegates of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) and Salesians, leading to a total of 116 participants from 13 countries of the Region. The meeting was also attended by Raúl Fernández, World Delegate for the Formation of the SSCCs. The objective of the meeting was to share the path we have travelled as a Region besides identifying needs and challenges. The meeting opened with a prayer for peace in the world, led by Sr Guadalupe López, Provincial Formator of Mexico. World Councillor Martín Calderón then took the floor, illustrating the initiatives underway in view of the Association's 150th anniversary. Among the many topics addressed was also the Laudato Si', with an invitation to sign the Letter of Commitment as a Region. The "Creed of the Salesian Cooperators" was then presented and proclaimed which was a prayer created by Mariana Cejudo, a Salesian Cooperator from North Mexico, which will be used also in the future events. In addition, Salesian Cooperators were encouraged to participate in the regional formation meeting to be held on Sunday, 26 November, at 11 a.m. (UTC-6), with a presentation by Antonio Boccia, the World President of the Association of Salesian Cooperators. The entire activity has been coordinated by Sr. Juanita Silva, Regional Delegate Formation.
