Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Brazil - October 2023 - On Sunday, 8 October, in Jaboatão dos Guararapes (PE), the Salesian Family celebrated a great feast in honour of Mary Help of Christians. With the theme "Our Mother, Our Queen", the 80th Pilgrimage of the Salesian Family took place, filling the Salesian São Sebastião Colony and the surrounding streets. The programme began with the meeting at the church of São Sebastião, where the faithful prayed the Rosary and awaited the departure of the float, specially prepared with flowers and a replica of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians. With the arrival at the Salesian Colony, marked by the joy and emotion of the pilgrims and many young people, various prayer, oratory, artistic and cultural activities began, culminating in the Mass celebrated by Fr Francisco Inácio, Superior of the Salesian Province of Brazil-Recife (BRE), and concelebrated by many Salesians. The celebration also included the crowning of the statue of Mary Help of Christians.
