Phu Quy, Vientam – October 2023 – The Vietnam Past Pupils National Federation every year marks the mid-Autumn Festival with poor children in remote areas, to bring happiness and love in the spirit of Don Bosco.  On 23 September 2023, the Past Pupils visited the children on a remote island, Phu Quy island which is about 100 kilometres from the port of Phan Thiet.  The small island with an area of 16 square kilometres has a population of 31,000 people with about 1100 children.  The event was held near a small Church of 150 parishioners and was open to all children where the Past Pupils distributed over 1000 gifts to all the children in Ngu Phung commune on Phu Quy island district. The joyful event of the Mid-Autumn Festival was led by young priest Dominic and included the traditional dance of the lion. The Vietnamese showed their enthusiasm in their charitable work with children and showed generosity to help them have a wonderful Festival to remember. They were determined to travel to this remote island through remote roads and spend a lot of time travelling to reach these youngsters.
