Cebu, Philippines - September 2023 - Youth Animators and Leaders from various backgrounds of the Cebu District gathered on 23 September in the chapel of the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Cebu to participate in the Leaders and Animators Formation (LAF, in English). The event was entitled "Upright: Being Good Christians and Honest Citizens". After registration, a welcome and some conviviality to break the ice, the meeting got into full swing with an address by Fr Regino Godinez, who discussed key points for the Formation: being Filipinos, Church teachings, Salesian Spirituality and the role of Candidates. Participants were then divided into groups for their personal sharing, with two representatives from each group subsequently presenting their insights to all. The afternoon session was dedicated to the "Primer SYM", the Salesian Youth Movement's Basic Manual. The formation day finally ended with the celebration of Mass.
