In his own words, the purpose of his visit was to be with his confreres in Haiti to show them the closeness and concern of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and his Council. According to the program drawn up for the visit, and due to little time availability, the Economer General was not able to visit all the communities, especially those in areas at high risk of insecurity such as Cité Soleil, ENAM and Pétion Ville. After leaving these three communities aside, he was able to visit the other eight that make up the HAI Vice-Province, sometimes with difficulty.
His movements to the north and south were ensured by a commercial airline. In every community he reached, there was an atmosphere of celebration and fraternal welcome. Given the coincidence of his visit with the reopening of school classes, Bro. Muller had the opportunity to witness the return to class of some of the beneficiaries of Salesian education. And, as he himself pointed out, he was able to observe that despite the difficult context that the country is experiencing and the lack of material and financial resources, the Salesians continue to carry out the mission of Don Bosco.
If the purpose of the visit was to bring encouragement and support to the Salesian mission in this tormented country, the result was certainly achieved. In fact, at the end of the visit, Fr David Hérode, Social Communication Delegate for the HAI Vice-Province, wrote: "We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to Bro. Muller, who was not afraid to come and visit us and be with us in what is by no means an easy daily existence. Thank you to the Rector Major and Bro. Muller for this historic visit at such a complicated time in Haiti's history. Long live Don Bosco, here and everywhere!"
