To provide some statistical data, it should be noted that the average age of the participants is 45 years and that for the first time 6 Salesian Brothers (four participants and two facilitators) are also participating in the School of Spiritual Accompaniment.
To date, a total of 147 Salesians have participated in the School, including 68 in English and 79 in Italian-Spanish-Portuguese, from 59 Provinces, from all Regions (Africa-Madagascar, South Asia, Mediterranean, East Asia-Oceania, South America, Interamerica, Central and Northern Europe) and from 2 regional training centres (the Don Bosco Renewal Centre in Bangalore – DBRC - in India and the Salesian Formation Centre for Africa and Madagascar – SAFCAM - in Nairobi, Kenya).
Participants gave positive feedback about the School. For them, in fact, it is not just a seminar or a moment of formation, but an experience. The Provincials also gave a positive opinion on the way in which the participants put into practice what they have learned at the School, which is a commitment they must make by participating in it.
The hope is that the participants, facilitators and support staff can live a grace-filled experience throughout the duration of the School, which will be coordinated by Salesian Brother Raymond Callo of the Formation Sector, and by Fr Fabio Attard and led by Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation.
Next year, in August and September 2024, it is planned to be able to offer the Salesian School of Spiritual Accompaniment to French-speaking Provinces.
