Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – August 2023 - Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councillor for the Missions, began the Extraordinary Visitation to the St John Bosco Province of Vietnam (VIE) at the Provincial House in Ho Chi Minh City, on 2 August  with the Eucharist concelebrated with the members of the Provincial Council. After the Mass there was a meeting during which the participants discussed the report of the Provincial Council prepared on the situation of the Province. The Province founded in 1952 comprises 354 Salesians, 14 novices, 17 pre-novices, and 60 aspirants spread over 38 houses with two Provincial Delegations, in North Vietnam and Mongolia. In his letter of convocation, the Rector Major indicated that "in order to combine the service of the Visitor with all the other commitments he has as General Councillor for the Missions, the Extraordinary Visitation will be from 1 August 2023 to 30 May 2024 over different occasions."
