Anisakan, Myanmar – June 2023 – 120 Catholics received the Sacrament of Confirmation on 24  June, the anniversary of St John the Baptist, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Anisakan The sacrament was administered by Archbishop Marco Tin Win, Archbishop of Mandalay. Given the large number receiving the Sacrament, the special faculty to administer the Sacrament together with the Archbishop was granted to Fr Don Bosco Nyi Nyi, Superior of the Mary Help of Christians Vice-Province of Myanmar (MYM), and to Fr Joseph Aung Kyaw, Parish Priest. In his homily, Archbishop Marco Tin Win encouraged young people to witness to Christ with their lives, especially among non-Catholics, and asked them to be faithful to God as good Catholics to the end. The parents of the young people, coming mostly from the FMA Nzareth Salesian Apostolic School and from the Mary Help of Christians mission station, expressed joy in seeing their children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
